So nice today

I'm tired of being cooped-up indoors, and shoulder-sore from the Garage Project - I think I'm gonna go play outside.
See you guys when I get back in a couple weeks.

Two Daleks went into a Bar...

Ok Mr. Freemarket was right and already things are crowding in - and I have lied again, but that is all on purpose, and meanwhile the finger has miraculously repaired itself.

Of the two standing Daleks, the right one swallowed-up the tents and camping gear including propane bottles (made 'im burp something awful) and cooking utensils, and the leftward one gorgedito'd upon feelthy dirtbike gear including two-stroke oils and even various automotive fluids (wax and WD40 gave that one the Calcutta Cha-Cha).

So now I'm really done blogging about this, really, I swear, for sure...and I'm not really a Dr. Who fan but they do look a bit like primitive Daleks, or maybe advanced ones - or Bender, he's my favorite.

The Garage-Mahal

This is a sanitized picture not showing a pile of junk that still needs to find its way into some kind of storage-thing, and this is the last blog-post on this subject.
It's close to done and I'm sure everyone's tired of it already - in this case close is good enough for horseshoes and hand-grenades, and for the Garage Mahal. So now I have to find a real-something to blog about.

Light

Wrestling with the spaghetti was like Spiderman's nemesis, Dr. Octopus. That flex stuff needs an anchor every so-often at a minimum, so I put up one on each stud. Also the fittings have to be just so and cinched-down tight.

Much help from friend Bill and my wife. A string of flex-stuff runs down to the left and ends in a box - all to code. Gotta be to code, every connection inside a box, and straight lines or it looks like shit.

Taking too long

To those of you who generously offered to allow me to serve their painting needs be forewarned, I'm damn slow. Based on the as-yet speed-to-target I wouldn't even hire myself for this project - but because I totally suck at hiring anybody else and managing labor I'm always the one who ends up doing these brilliant-idea jobs.
So now the primer is up after only four hours of rolling. That's how long it took and that's about my workday, Ten-till-Two - so I'm damn lazy besides slow.
The wood door itself was raw and nasty and soaked-up a huge amount of primer-sealer, like half a can, and still had an ugly yellow tinge.
Tomorrow comes more of the battleship-gray paint, and then the flooring - I gotta call the flooring guy...
